Matilda's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to expand her herbal business by buying more herbs for her herbal clinic.

Matilda's story

Matilda is a 39-year-old entrepreneur who lives with her mother and children in the Sesheke district of Zambia. She is the district Chairperson of CAMA, which is CAMFED’s Alumnae Association.

With her first Kiva loan, Matilda purchased more stock to expand her business selling second-hand clothes. She used the profit she earned to support her family's basic needs and open a herbal clinic.

Matilda is requesting a third loan to expand her herbal business. She plans to use the profit she earns to support her family.

Matilda will repay the ‘social interest’ on her loan by volunteering three hours per week as a CAMFED Transition Guide, supporting other young women who are just entering CAMA by delivering an orientation course with weekly sessions on topics including health, financial literacy, and career guidance.
