A loan helped buy fertilisers for her banana and coffee plantations to improve the yields.

Alice's story

Alice is a professional primary school teacher who lives in Ishaka municipality. She is an innovative lady who realized that the little money she was earning from teaching was insufficient to meet family needs. She decided to take part in farming to supplement her earnings and support the husband with family expenses.

She appreciates Kiva, for the previous harvest was good and profitable because she had applied fertilisers, which she bought using Kiva funds.

She is requesting another loan of 3,000,000 UGX to buy mulch for her banana and coffee plantations to improve the production and offer good produce in the market for customer maintenance and new customer entry, so as to earn income and support the family.

Alice is described as a hardworking woman, cooperative, honest, and with a high level of integrity. She thanks the lenders for the continuous support that has improved her farming business.
