Aïssatou's Group's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped buy household items to sell.

Aïssatou's Group's story

These eighteen women are part of a banc villageois that has been in existence since December 2015. They all live in the same area and get along well. They are in their ninth loan cycle and have a thriving business.

Mrs. Aïssatou is the head of the group. She is seated on the left-hand side of the photo with her hand raised. She is a 64-year-old widow who has eight children, four boys and four girls. The youngest child is still in school. The others work and one of her daughters is married.

Mrs. Aïssatou sells household items. She buys the products wholesale and then sells them in her local market. She has had a successful business for the past four years.

Mrs. Aïssatou would like to buy 60 basins, 50 bowls and 25 buckets. She will sell these items daily, moving from place to place every afternoon, to make the money to repay the loan. With the profits earned from using these funds, she will help her children with household expenses and add money to the banc villageois.
