Famata's story

Meet 34-year-old- Famata, from Liberia. She is living together with her partner along with two children, ages 5 and 8 years. Both of her children are presently in school and live at home.

Famata is a hardworking entrepreneur who sells onions, garlic, salt, rice, red oil, vegetable oil, tomatoes and other items within her community. She has been a trader for ten years now. She likes her business because it is fast on a daily basis.

She applied for a loan through BRAC Liberia, a Kiva field partner. The loan will be used to buy more onions, garlic, salt, rice, red oil, vegetable oil, tomatoes and other items to sell in order to repay her loan installment. Her profits will allow her to help her partner with some household expenses.

In the future, Famata wants to increase her business. She is highly grateful for the financial support rendered.
