A loan helped to purchase more materials that she uses for her handicrafts business.

'aliitasi's story

'Aliitasi is 66 years old, a mother of eight children, and she has 26 grandchildren. She requested a loan from SPBD to help her business. Last year she had a loan, which was posted to Kiva, and she successfully paid it back. She used her loan to buy some materials for her handicrafts business. She used the income for her loan repayments, for her family, and some to her business expenses.

'Aliitasi is self employed, and only her husband helps her in the business. They make different types of souvenir gifts from coconut husks and sell them to earn income for living as it appears in the photograph. She is a very hard working person. She works in her business from Monday to Saturday at the place where she sells her products.

She has a vision for the future to continue running her business to help her family, especially her grandchildren. She feels responsible for helping to raise them and also to educate them for a good future.
