Miatta

VOA BRANCH, , Liberia / Food

Miatta's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy more rice, meat, peppers and other ingredients that will be used to prepare cooked food to sell.

Miatta's story

Meet 30-year-old Miatta from Liberia. She is a single mother with 3 children between 5 and 10 years old. All of her children are presently in school and live at home. Miatta attended school until 6th grade and considers herself a strong business woman.

In order to support her children, Miatta has sold cooked food in her neighborhood for 10 years. She uses a car to transport supplies to her business site and sells 6 days a week, from 6:30 am until 4:30 pm to make sure that her business goes well. She likes her business because it makes her an independent woman.

To continue selling, Miatta requested for a loan through BRAC Liberia, a Kiva field partner, to buy more rice, meat, peppers and other ingredients that will be used to prepare cooked food to sell to her good clients. She is highly grateful for the financial support BRAC and Kiva have rendered.
