Rokhaya's Group's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy food products for resale.

Rokhaya's Group's story

Created in May 2013, this "banc villageois" groups together three hard-working women who come from the same village and live in a commune. They are relatives and neighbours who enjoy good relations and mutual support. Their main activity is retail. They have repaid 10 loans without any problems.

Rokhaya, who is 47 years old, is the group representative and is standing on the right of the picture raising her hand. She is married and the mother of two boys. She is a dynamic woman who has been able to increase her savings in order to obtain a special loan.

Rokhaya sells food (like dried fish and "yett" - a marine mollusc). She gets her supplies wholesale in her village and resells to retail customers at a market in the capital. She has 15 years of good experience in her line of work.

She plans to use her loan to buy some baskets of dried fish and yett which she will resell, hopefully for a good profit. Her business is doing well despite stiff competition.

She will spend some of her profits on family expenses and put some into her savings at the banc villageois.
