Mariana is 68 years old. She maintains a common-law marriage. She has five children, of whom one died and all are adults and independent. Her spouse makes a living from selling beverages and soft drinks at home. They live in their own home.

Mariana previously had a diner but because of a variety of difficulties, she closed it and now makes a living from selling products from catalogs for clothing, shoes, and home products.
