Losena's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy some pandanus and raw materials for a member's weaving and handicrafts businesses.

Losena's story

Losena is 27 years old and married, but her husband travels overseas. She's solely responsible for looking after their daughter.

She runs her businesses of weaving and handicrafts to earn income for her to help fulfill her responsibilities for her daughter. They are living in Losena's parent's house, and there are twelve of them all living together in the same house.

She requested a loan from SPBD as her third loan cycle. She runs her business together with the help of her mother and aunty. She makes lots of different souvenirs out of her raw materials. When she sells her products she uses the profits for her and her daughter's living expenses and to help with her loan repayments.

Last year, Losena had a Kiva loan for the renovation of their house, which was damaged after cyclone Gita. She successfully paid off that loan.

In the future she has a vision to continue on running her business so that her daughter benefits from it.
