A loan helped to buy more lappa, slippers, soap, water, and cream to sell.

Coretta's story

Coretta is 39 years old and married with 5 children. All of her children are presently in school and live at home. Coretta went to school until 12th grade. She runs a business in a shop where she sells lappa, slippers, soap, water, and cream to earn a living.

For the past 7 years, she has been operating her business and considers herself a hardworking business woman. She learned the trade from her mother, and her husband gave her money to start the business. She transports goods to her business site by car. She says she enjoys selling because it helps to send her children to school.

To continue selling, Coretta applied for a loan through BRAC Liberia, a Kiva field partner. She plans to use the loan to buy more lappa, slippers, soap, water, and cream to sell to her good clients. In the future, she wants to build her house and send her children to school. She wishes to say thanks.
