A loan helped to restock more grocery items to improve her business.

Hazvidihope Group's story

Jane is a 50-year-old mother of four children, one of whom is attending primary school. The other three are now married. Jane commenced her grocery market stall business 7 years ago with the help of her husband, before he passed away. She sells basic commodities like soap, sugar, sweets and energy drinks.

Jane restocks her products from South Africa twice per month. She keeps business records like daily sales and also does savings. Jane realized the need to boost her working capital hence she approached Thrive Microfinance for financial assistance. She formed Hazvidihope group with her three business friends. The group attended business management training offered by Thrive, which helped them make informed borrowing decisions.

Hazvidihope group received a combined loan from which Jane used her portion to restock more grocery items to improve her business.
