St Kizito Abagwane Women's Group's story

Pilikelya resides in Bundibugyo, Uganda as a widow and mother of nine children, where she is engaged in cocoa farming and selling as source of family income. For the past 20 years, farming has enabled her to look after her family and pay school fees for her children.

She joined St Kizito Abagwane Women's Group in order to be guaranteed by members for loans to start a business of cocoa buying and selling and earn more income. She intends to use the loan as working capital to buy cocoa for resale, in spite of challenges such price fluctuation of cocoa and harsh weather conditions.
