A loan helped to restock one cow.

Budja Group's story

Yasha is a 19-year-old single mother with 1 child, who is not of school going age. She resides in Mutoko, a low density area, at her parents’ home.

Yasha is a young talented woman who operates a butchery at Mutoko Centre. She faces a lot of competition since it is the central business district for Mutoko, so most butcheries are crowded in that area. She survives the stiff competition through her reduction of price of meat per kilogram and this attracts more customers.

She also takes advantage of her ability to go in the field to buy live cattle which is cheaper. After buying her live cattle she takes to the abattoir and then she retails. She also has one employee who assists her to run her butchery in her absence.

Yasha ensures that all refrigerators are fully functional and she also makes sure that her operating area is thoroughly clean all the time. She applied for a loan which she used to restock one cow.
