Caroline's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to purchase a high-yielding dairy cow and milk cans to increase her milk-vending business, and to earn more profits to take care of her loving family.

Caroline's story

Caroline lives in Siongiroi, a distinctive town in the central area of Kenya where people suffer from poverty and lack of capital.

Most people in this area are smallholder farmers. Caroline has been practicing farming on a small inherited piece of land for the past seven years. She believes in the slogan "hard work leads to success," which is why she decided to join Juhudi Kilimo.

She is borrowing 40,000 KES from Kiva lenders to purchase a high-yielding dairy cow and milk cans to increase her milk-vending business. This cow will boost milk production on the farm. As a result, she will have more milk for both consumption and sales. With the money from the additional sales, she will be able to pay back her loan on time. With the increased income from the loan, Caroline plans to settle the high cost of farm production.

In the long run, her family will have an improved standard of living.
