Susanna's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to purchase more rice, lappa, slippers and other items.

Susanna's story

Meet 45-year-old Susanna from Liberia. She is married, with seven children. All of her children are currently attending school while living at home.

Susanna runs a business which sells rice, lappa (wrapper) [traditional West African cloth], slippers and other items. She has dealt in this business for the past seven years now and works 12 hours per day, 6 days a week. For the time being she has had no problem with her business.

Susanna has requested this loan from BRAC to purchase more rice, lappa, slippers and other items to sell and increase her business. She says that the extra income from this loan will help improve their standard of living.

In the future, she wants to continue sending her children to school and becoming an international businesswoman. She says thanks and gives appreciation to BRAC and the Kiva community for their support.
