Lourdes Evelin's story
Lourdes Evelin G. L., 21, is single and has no children. She lives with her parents and two siblings. They are six siblings but the rest are already adult and don't live with their parents anymore. She is a member of the "San Jose de las Orquideas" communal bank, which is located 15 minutes from the city of San Miguel in the San Jose de Palmas community. Most of the community's residents are corn and potato farmers. Lourdes is studying in Bolivar University to become an Executive Secretary . On weekends, she helps her parents to plant and harvest corn, potatoes, beans and peas. Sometimes, she accompanies her parents to the San Miguel market to sell their products. She is asking for funding to buy liquid fertilizers and manures to help her parents with their crops. Her dream for the future is to have her own career and to get a job. She would also like to study a second profession in the university but, due to the economic situation, this isn't possible. She would like to study in another country but her parent's already have to spend a lot with all the children so this isn't possible, either.
