Benkadi Group's story

Safoura is a 56-year-woman from Mali, who is unable to read or write. In the photo, she is the woman holding the horns of the sheep in her left hand. Safoura is married with four children between the ages of seven and 13 years old. One of her children is in school.

Safoura buys grain and animals at a nearby market. She sells the grain to small retailers in her local market, and sells the animals to wholesale markets. She has been in the business of selling for more than 15 years.

Safoura hopes to increase her business profits so that she can provide for her children’s education and health needs. She would also like to help her husband in his animal selling business.

Safoura generates a monthly revenue of 20,000 francs CFA from her livestock farming business.
