Tasya's story

I have been obsessed with eating DELICIOUSLY from a young age. As I get older, I realize delicious is determined not just by what the food is but where the ingredients come from. Now when I shop I want to discover if the food is locally grown, is it organic or non-gmo and am I doing my part to make the world a better place. A tall order for just a little grocery shopping but it all has it’s roots in my upbringing. My grandfather Isadore was very focused on healthy eating - in the 1950s he would go into groceries and ask for organic, but only the farmers really knew what organic was. In his late 50s, he was diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease. When western medicine didn't know what to do for him, he went in search of his own healing modalities; he found acupuncture and hands-on healers and did juice fasts. Our family believes his commitment to finding alternative health remedies extended his life. That tenacious spirit and passion to find the healthiest, most delicious and ethical options has absolutely shaped the woman and mother that I am. I want my daughters to understand that just by the purchases we make; we can help people live better lives. As a business woman who has struggled to create a sustainable and ethical product that’s profitable, I know how the decisions I make have a ripple effect to the individuals who make my ingredients or print my packaging. I want the examples I set with my business, to be ones that show my daughters no matter how small the choices we make, we are making a big change in the world.
