Rokhaya's Group's loan finished fundraising, but these other borrowers need your support

A loan helped to buy vegetables to resell. Also, to renovate her house.

Rokhaya's Group's story

This Banc Villageois, established in June 2007, brings together these eight women who live in the same village and are united by clear values of kinship, neighbourhood, and solidarity. Their main activity is trade.

Rokhaya is the representative of the group, standing with her hand raised on the far left in the photo. At 61 years old, she is divorced and mother of seven children, three of whom are boys. Her oldest is 36, and her youngest, who is in school, is 17.

She trades vegetables in the market of the closest city to her village, which is a meeting place for many people. She has a good 13 years experience in the sector.

With her loan, she hopes to buy sacks of carrots, cabbage, manioc, turnip, pepper, etc., to resell with a good profit margin. The remainder of her loan will be used to renovate the family home.

With her profits, she strengthens her business and saves within the Banc Villageois.
