Lydia's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to add women’s sandals to her business.

Lydia's story

Lydia is a 21-year-old entrepreneur, who lives with her extended family in the Bawku West district in Ghana. Lydia has her own business at a flea market. With her previous Kiva loans, Lydia was able to start her business selling groceries and clothes. She used the profit she earned to pay for her siblings’ school fees.

Lydia is requesting another loan to add women’s sandals to her business. She plans to use the profit she earns to support her family with basic needs. Lydia will repay the ‘social interest’ on this loan by volunteering two and half hours per week as a Camfed Peer Educator, leading life skills sessions for students in local schools on topics such as rights and choices, choosing a career path and active citizenship.
