Machiri Group's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to restock 100 chicks and chicken feed.

Machiri Group's story

Mavis believes that knowledge and skill are essential for one to survive. She is a 24-year-old single mother of one child. Mavis resides in Chiweshe village. Her life has never been a bed of roses but she has a way of creating one for herself.

She is into poultry rearing and has been in this business for four years, specializing in broilers. Mavis keeps batches of 50 birds for intervals of three weeks. She has a well secured fowl run built with farm bricks and a grass thatched roof. The fowl run has the capacity for 250 birds.

Mavis' major constraint is lack of adequate capital to meet her increasing demand. Hence, she formed Machiri Group with her three friends so as to acquire a loan from Thrive. Mavis used her share from the group loan to restock 100 chicks and chicken feed.
