A loan helped to buy groceries in bulk.

Pinel Group's story

Memory is a young lady aged 25 who resides in Chinhoyi. She sells groceries around her area, and she restocks from local wholesalers or travels to Harare once a month. Her husband is also a vendor in the city. Their income helps them to feed their two children and a dependent from the extended family.

Memory and her husband believe that commitment will make them reach their family goals. They share stock every morning then combine their income as they plan for the next day at the end of each day. They saw a growth potential in their business, hence Memory joined Thrive Microfinance with her two friends in order to access additional funds. The ladies named their group Pinel, and they attended Thrive training sessions, which helped them to make informed borrowing decisions.

The group received their loan, from which Memory used her share to buy groceries in bulk. The loan will help the family to grow their business. Memory expects to continue growing her operations and hopes to open a grocery shop in the near future.
