Mercy's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy seeds and expand her tea farming business and, as a single woman, to generate more profit and educate her children.

Mercy's story

Mercy is a motivated smallholder farmer from the Kericho area who always works hard to bring success into her life. She has the drive to work very hard, making very hard farm decisions. She is single and blessed with beautiful children to raise and educate.

Mercy has little time to make money to provide financial support for her family. Her primary sources of income are milk, tea farming, eggs, and some personal businesses that she engages in.

Mercy is seeking a 60,000 KES loan from Kiva lenders to buy seeds and expand her tea farming business. Tea farming offers employment opportunities to thousands of smallholder farmers in the Kericho area, and it’s for this reason that Juhudi has teamed up with Kiva to give access to a loan that will help Mercy to expand her tea farm into a highly profitable business.

With your loan, Mercy’s family will benefit from the growth of her business. This will not only increase their income, but will also improve their living standards. Lenders, if there is someone you should consider lending to this year, that person is Mercy! Mercy is so thankful to have a chance like this Kiva loan. She hopes for your help.
