A loan helped to dig a lake to irrigate the land.

Mihail's story

Mihail thanks Kiva lenders for the previous loan that helped him to purchase a pickle inventory to conserve watermelon. Due to this, he was able to conserve the harvest of watermelon and to obtain additional income.

Mihail continues to deal with farming. He grows potatoes, eggplants and watermelons and sells the harvest at the local open-air markets. Farming is the main activity and the only source of income for Mihail and his family. He strives to develop his business in a way so that it will became a sustainable one.

Mihail does not have an irrigation system and it is difficult to obtain better harvests in these conditions, so he decided to dig a lake. For this reason, he requests a new loan from Kiva. As a result, he will be able to irrigate his land and therefore will develop his own sustainable business.
