Mujeres Del Sector Terminal Group's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy high quality cotton thread and adornments.

Mujeres Del Sector Terminal Group's story

The President of the Friendship Bridge Trust Bank “Mujeres del Sector Terminal” is 43-year-old Sebastiana. There are 10 other Maya K’iche ladies in the Trust Bank located in the department/state of Quiche.

Sebastiana is married and has 8 children who range in age from 18 months to 24 years of age. Sebastiana has a lot of responsibility with such a large family. She wants to be certain that her children have a complete education. She weaves colorful and beautiful traditional blouses or “huipiles” as well as “perrajes” or pretty shawls.

Sebastiana is requesting her 4th Kiva loan because she needs raw materials and supplies for the business. She plans to buy high-quality cotton thread and adornments so that she can make more than 4 “huipiles” each month and increase her income.

The ladies in the Trust Bank have various businesses that include animal husbandry (chickens, cows), convenience stores, tortilla shops, vegetable stands, and traditional textile fabrication. They meet monthly and after making prompt loan payments, participate in educational training that helps them with their businesses, health, families and themselves. As they have little or no formal education, these training are essential to their success. Friendship Bridge calls this “Microcredit Plus” with the “Plus” services being educational training and access to healthcare services. There are also advanced training as well.

Thank you, Kiva investors!
