Awa's story

Awa is a forty-five-year-old widow, married and the mother of five children, whose ages range from 5 to 23 years old, four of whom go to school. She works selling products retail. She has been selling various articles in her neighborhood for 23 years.
This is currently her third loan cycle with the microfinance institution YIKRI. She is requesting a loan to buy a large quantity of sugar and mayonnaise. She would like to buy supplies in sufficient quantities to satisfy her customers. She is planning to use the earnings from her sales to reinvest in her business and to save up some money to take care of her children.
