A loan helped to buy a beast for slaughter.

Northwood Group's story

Serina is a 39-year-old lady who resides in Chivhu. She recently came to Thrive Microfinance for the first time to get a loan. She runs a butchery.

Serina is very ambitious for her business and decided to apply for a business loan to help her meet growing demand. She is a single mother of four children and is fighting so hard to take good care of them. Despite being single, as a mother who needs to look after her family, she makes use of her entrepreneurial business skills, hence the financial status of her business matters most to her, and she always desires to take her business to another level.

Serina managed to attract more customers as compared to other competitors in her area. She achieved this through customer care and by producing good quality meat. As a measure of boosting her business, she applied for a loan. She managed to get a loan with which she was able to buy a beast to slaughter and sell in her butchery.
