Nuevo Samugari Group's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to maintain, prune, weed and add fertilizer to her plot of cocoa plants with the goal of improving her crops and offering quality products to her clients.

Nuevo Samugari Group's story

Marina is fourty-four years old and is part of the "Nuevo Samugari" group. This group is composed of eleven members and is lead by her. They consider themselves to be a friendly and responsible group, determined to continue improving in order to get ahead.

"I have four children and for over four seven years, I have made a living cultivating cocoa, plantains and citrus fruit" said Marina who is requesting her loan through Kiva. The loan would be use in the pruning, weeding and application of fertilizer, so she produces better quality products in the future in order to meet her clients' needs.

With the extra income, she plans to build and improve her home. In addition, as a second business, she will work other parcels of land [belonging to other people] as a day laborer by weeding and maintaining the crops.

She considers herself a hardworking entrepreneurial woman and a leader.
