Reidelinda's story

Reidelinda, 63, lives in the Juanjui district, Mariscal Cásceres province, San Martín department. She belongs to the Santa Rosa de Lima Communal Bank. She has a second grade education. She is a widow, and she has four independent children. Reilinda has been in the business of selling fruit for ten years. Her business is located in the market close to her house. With her first loan for 300 PEN she bought oranges by the hundreds, sacks of lemons, and bunches of bananas. With this loan for 2,000 PEN she will buy fruit like oranges by the hundreds, “carambolas” (a wild jungle fruit), plantains, pineapples, and Brazilian guavas, etc. That way she will satisfy her customers who come to her stand day to day. Reilinda is very happy with the work she does. The good product that she sells has given her loyal customers. The member dreams of having her own place to sell from in her house. She is grateful to the Manuela Ramos Movement for the support they give her, and other women who need it, to start and establish their businesses.
