A loan helped to purchase provisions.

Betty Auxiliaora's story

Tosagua is a productive canton, they harvest cocoa, coffee, plantains, corn and more. In livestock, they also raise poultry and pigs. It has its very well-known cuisine in the zone. Its primary dish is fried and grilled chame fish.

Betty is 54 years old, married, and has four children, all of whom are adults and independent. Her spouse is a professional driver and hauls things in his own vehicle.

Betty is an expert in the cuisine of the area. She has a cafeteria where she prepares bolones [fried green plantain dumplings], humitas [steamed fresh corn cakes], corviches, fried dishes, etc. every day. She works from 6:00 am to 10:00 pm. She has an informal stand on a cart. She sets it up in various places and has had this stand for 6 years. Her spouse helps her every day.

With this new loan, she will purchase provisions to continue making her products and some chairs which she needs. Her dream is to have her own retail space in the center to continue with her sales and food preparation, which is what she likes to do.
