Paola Vanesa's story

Paola is a young mother at 21 years old, who moved from her native community of Maldonado towards the city in search of a better future for her and her small child. Also, she saw opportunity for her child in the city since here he has access to a good education, which would not happen if she stayed in her community. Upon arriving in the city, the first thing she did was to get established and start her business raising small animals, since this is what she had learned from a young age.

After gaining experience, she noted that she obtained greater profits from her business by raising dairy cows, which is why she put more emphasis on that work by dedicating her time and resources to that job; thus, little by little she has gone on improving her business through the help that she has received from Kiva, for which she feels very grateful. Through this support, Paola was able to forge a future in the city and day after day she dreams of having her own house to provide her son with a stable home to live in.

Paola wants to continue expanding her business, which is why she is requesting a loan to buy heifers, calves, vitamins, salt, molasses and feed. In this way the profits she obtains from her business will be greater and allow her to continue changing her style of life.
