Diarra's Group's story

This group of 14 women is part of the banc villageois which was set up in June 2015. They live in the same neighbourhood and are relatives and friends, sharing strong values of understanding and mutual aid. Their main activity is trade and they have repaid more than six loans successfully.

Diarra, the representative, is 72 years old; she is standing at the left of the photo and raising her hand. She is married and has five grown-up married children.

Diarra runs a small soap powder business, buying from the central market and reselling locally from her home. She has 14 years of experience in the field.

With her loan she plans to buy six bags of soap powder and pay for delivery. She makes a lot of profits because her activity is working well and she is the only one to do it in the neighborhood.

Her profits will be saved with the banc villageois.
