A loan helped to purchase more rice, palm oil and other local market food to increase her business.

Fatmata's story

Meet 48-year-old Fatmata from Looking Town branch. She is married with four children between the ages of 10 and 27 years old and two of them are currently attending school.

Fatmata runs a local produce business and sells rice, palm oil and other local market produce to her customers around the community. She has been in this business for the past six years now and works nine hours per day, seven days a week. Her main challenge is slow sales at times.

Fatmata requested this loan from BRAC to purchase more rice, palm oil and other local market food to increase her business. She says that the extra income from this loan will help her to pay fees for her children and to take care of her family. In the next five years she wants to expand. She gives thanks and appreciation to BRAC and the Kiva community for their support.
