Total loan: $6,000
Caguas, PR, Puerto Rico / Retail
Monica's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!
A loan helped me buy my own laser cutting maching so I can manufacture my own designs.
My name is Monica and I was born in San Juan, Puerto Rico. I grew up in a family that was supported by a small business. My dad had a computer store, Micro Computer Store, the first one on the island, which also sold and distributed to other Caribbean islands. I remember working on my family business since I was very small, and grew up learning how to manage, sell, satisfy customer needs and all that involves running a small family operated business. The foundation of what I do and know today was thanks to that experience. I still live in Puerto Rico, now in the town of Caguas, and have a 18 month old baby. I plan to teach my son the same work ethic that my dad taught me by developing this jewelry line from scratch, like he did with his computer business, and help financially contribute to my family’s income. I dream of having a successful jewelry brand, all manufactured in Puerto Rico and impacting and empowering the lives of the women that get to work in my workshop and by this also impacting the local economy.
