Mariatu's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to purchase more bales of junks (used clothing) to increase her business.

Mariatu's story

Meet 23-year-old Mariatu from the Masuba branch. She is single with one child who is eight years old.

Mariatu runs a clothing business and sells junks (used) clothing to her customers around the community. She has been in this business for the past five years now and works seven hours per day and seven days a week. Her other source of income is from her father. Her main challenge is financial constraints.

Mariatu requested this loan from BRAC to purchase more bales of junks to increase her business. She says that the extra income from this loan will help her to improve her standard of living and to pay her child's school fees. In the next five years, she wants to expand. She says thanks and gives appreciation to BRAC and the Kiva community for their support.
