Joyce's Group's loan finished fundraising, but these other borrowers need your support

A loan helped to purchase a solar light, as well as hybrid seeds and fertilizer to improve harvests of maize.

Joyce's Group's story

Featured in the above picture is Joyce, who has been a farmer for three years. Although she is pictured alone, she is actually representing her group of nine farmers in Webuye District, Kenya. Joyce has always been described as a very resourceful person, which is largely why she was selected to be the group leader.

Joyce started working with One Acre Fund for the first time in 2019, and this year she decided to not only get farming inputs, but also a solar light as part of her loan. She is very excited about this new addition, as now she will be able to have light during the night and have somewhere to charge her phone. She can’t wait to save more money for the future using the profits she earns from this coming season.

Joyce’s Group will be able to plant a total of 4.25 acres using the farming inputs obtained with this loan, and will also receive a total of six solar lights.
