A loan helped us to purchase inventory and equipment needed to process larger volumes of product, and to hire personnel for both front and back end operations.
I have so many fond memories of making things with my mother! Gardening, harvesting, and preserving was an ongoing activity in our home, culminating with the huge haul of tomatoes and squash at summers' end. Intermingled within the apples, peaches, and pears, were the myriad herbs grown by my mom, aunts and grandmother. These herbs were cultivated for the expressed purpose of keeping our family members healthy and vibrant. As I grew into adulthood, I drifted away from the shots of green goo that my mother so proudly demanded that I drink, and relaxed into trips to the doctors office, and the local pharmacy. All of that changed with the birth of my first daughter. She was the most gorgeous baby in the world, but man was her skin dry! Without a moments delay, I read as much as I could retain about lotion and bubble bath making. My first batch sold out! Looks like I was listening in chemistry class after all. From there my love of mixing, blending, and batching became like air to me. That was 1997, and I’m still going. My next steps are to create multi-disciplinary learning centers that offer beautiful, organic products, a fabulous relaxing spa environment, and educational opportunities.
