Caroline's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!
A loan helped me obtain USDA certification so I can grow and scale production volume across state lines. It will also give me the opportunity to create custom packaging and gain a wider distribution network.
For the past 6 1/2 years I have been a stay at home mom raising my two daughters and supporting my husband in his government career as we've moved across the country twice. I've always been a passionate home cook but once I became a mother I soon learned I didn't have nearly enough time in the day to create the kind of meals I did before. I hated the convenience food options at the stores and going out to dinner regularly on a single government salary wasn't an option for us. So I did what mom's do, I found a solution. I dove head first into my recipes and started making savory pies by the dozen. I would make as many as I could fit in my freezer so that I would have home made food without any effort after a long day. This idea soon caught on and friends and family started asking how they could get some of my pies. I knew 6 years ago that I had a great business idea and the recipes to support it but two cross country moves in 4 years with two little kids put that dream on hold. Recently I was given the amazing opportunity to partner with Union Kitchen in Washington DC and become part of their Accelerator program. Union Kitchen is made up of an incredible group of pioneers who have the industry knowledge to support me as I go through the steps of taking this dream to reality. As we move this business forward I need funding to support the efforts it will take to successfully launch Park Pie Company.
