Rocking Chair Group's story

Rocking chair is a group of 4 members who are based in Tafara, Harare. Within the group is Tabeth who takes care of her two school-going children. She is married and her husband is self employed specializing in key cutting. Staying at her in-law`s house, she runs a business selling vegetables, fruits, stationery and cosmetics at a nearby shopping center. She also moves around schools within her reach supplying drums, hoes, axes only to mention but a few. She has been able to save as much income to buy a residential stand. In the long run she plans to start building it having increased her stock levels and customer base. For her business she desires to open a cosmetics shop where she will be able to stock in bulk and be more exposed to the market. Together with her group mates they applied for a second loan and got a total of $2,300. Tabeth used her share to buy 4 boxes of writing pens, 2 boxes of crayons, 5 boxes of make-up sets and 30 bottles perfume. The other group members operate a tuck shop and a flea market businesses.
