Emprendedores Del Reino Group's story

Marina is 47 years old. For more than eight years, she has been selling food and traditional local dishes (cured and roasted meats, fried plantains, fish, and general menu items). She is hired by pensioners to prepare lunches for them on a monthly basis. Marina also sells breakfast foods. Her business is located in a rented stall at the market where she works from 7:00 A.M. to 3:00 P.M.

Marina is requesting a loan from Kiva to improve her shop. She will buy tables and chairs in order to provide a better infrastructure. Marina also sells offal at her shop two or three days a week. Her husband is a carpenter and has a small workshop at the front of their house. Their son is in high school, so they are saving to provide him a better education.

Both Marina and her husband are wanting to improve their finances. Her goal is to have her own shop at the market so that she can avoid paying rent. She also wants to improve the infrastructure. Marina considers herself to be a determined, thrifty, and enterprising individual who wants to get ahead.
