Glumira's story

The 54-year-old Glumira is married with two sons, the older of whom is at military school while the younger is in the senior grades of secondary school. Glumira has a secondary education and is sociable by nature. She has been raising livestock since 1999, and this is her family's main source of income. Thanks to her hard work and the help of her husband and younger son around the farm, it presently consists of three cows, 20 sheep, and three horses.

In order to develop her farm further, Glumira has turned to Bai Tushum Bank for a loan of 70,000 som (KGS) to buy a dairy cow, in order to increase her cattle headcount and its organic milk yield. Glumira plans to put the income generated by the loan into continuing the development of her livestock business, by buying cows and sheep. She will also put part of it aside for her son's future marriage.
