Las Victoriosas Group's loan finished fundraising, but these other borrowers need your support

A loan helped to buy a cutting machine for "duroport", a type of hard plastic foam material, as well as different types of paper and paints.

Las Victoriosas Group's story

Brenda and six other women who make up the Friendship Bridge Trust Bank "Las Victorias" live in the state of Chimaltenango. Brenda is 24 years old, pregnant with her second child and has a six-year-old daughter starting school. Having attended high school, her goal for her children is prosperity from a complete education.

Brenda's husband does not generate enough income to cover all the household expenses, so a couple of years ago, Brenda started a decorating business. Her business needs additional income, thus she is requesting a kiva loan to purchase a cutting machine for "duroport", a type of hard plastic foam material, as well as different types of paper and paints.

On a monthly basis, Brenda and her friends, who have businesses selling corn tortillas or clothes, or have shops, meet to make loan payments and participate in educational trainings that are a part of the "Microcredit Plus" program of loans, education and healthcare services. They learn to plan, budget and invest, as well as gain information about health, hygiene and nutrition.

"It is important to be informed and strengthen our capabilities", says Brenda because she and her friends know improving business skills creates profits that will help provide better development opportunities for their families.

Thank you, kiva investors, for your generous support of Brenda's business development!
