Miatta's story

Meet 40-year-old Miatta from Hill station branch. She is a married woman with 4 children between the ages of 12 and 25 years, two of whom are currently attending school.

Miatta runs a retail shop and sells provisions such as cosmetics, toiletries, cloths, water, drinks, groceries and other assorted items to her customers around the community. She has been in this business for the past 10 years now and works 12 hours per day and 6 days a week.

Her family's other source of income is from her husband. Her main challenge is lack of sufficient capital to expand her business.

Miatta has requested this loan from Brac to purchase more provisions such as cosmetics, toiletries, cloths, water, drinks, groceries and other assorted items to increase her business stock. She says that the extra income from this loan will help her to improve her business. In the next 5 years she wants to expand.

She sends thanks and appreciation to Brac and the Kiva community for their support.
