Morgan's story

Jeddah's tradition of bringing people together over a gratifying cup of tea is what Wael and Morgan aim to do. Wael's maternal gradmother, lovingly known as "Jeddah", brewed her customary "Daallo Blend" for customers at her bukhoor (incense) shop in Hargeisa, Somaliland. Even after she was forced to flee with her daughter and two nieces due to civil unrest, she served her new community with the same brand of love, care and enthusiasm. It is in her memory that Jeddah's Tea was founded, and through which her legacy will live on. We love and appreciate the many roles a cup of tea can play: the reconciler, the peacekeeper, the comforter, the storyteller and the sage. Bringing our brand of love and comfort to the people of NC is a dream come true. As parents of 3 young children, it is important to us that we show them that their dreams are attainable. We are a family struggling to spend time together. Wael works 2 full-time jobs in order to provide, yet, our family lives by the thin of our teeth. We realized that we needed to break that cycle and pursue what brings us joy. Taking this route is enabling us to spend time together as a family while we perfect our teas. By working together as a team, we will be able to create the perfect experience for our customers, create a fair-living wage for our family, and provide an example for our children.
