Lu'isa's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy some mulberry for her business of making tapa.

Lu'isa's story

Lu'isa is 39 years old, married and has seven children and four grandchildren. Three of her children are currently at school and one has not yet entered school.

She's running her business, making tapa (bark cloth) for living. She requested a loan from SPBD and used it as capital for her business. She has been running her business for years now, this is her eleventh loan cycle.

She joined in a group of tapa making in her village and they are working together so they can produce their products fast. When she finishes making a tapa, she sells it out in the market to earn money for her business, loan repayments, and especially her family.

Lu'isa appears in the photograph with one of her tapa. She has a talent for decorating her tapa so they are more attractive to her customers. She has a vision for the future which is to make profits in her business so as to improve her family's living conditions in the future
