Sabor De Mel Group's story

The Sabor de Mel [Taste of Honey] group is renewing their loan. They would like to humbly request the investors' and Kiva's support, in order to continue making improvements on their businesses, with the belief that with hard work their lives can change for the better.

Neide has a shop and sells women's clothing. Maria sells lingerie, and with this loan will invest in beach fashions. Eliezer is new to the group, and has an accessories shop where he sells bags, purses, belts, and other items.

Let's focus on Ivete. She is the group's leader. Her husband left her alone with her daughter, who was very young. In order to avoid financial need, and with her daughter as her motivation, she started to work as a seamstress so she could make an income and pay the rent.

Over time, she was able to obtain a rented space in the municipality of Santo André, and she opened her shop. She takes small mending jobs and makes items to order.

The loan will help her to buy fabric, thread, and trim, and to pay the condominium fees on the shop. Her dream is to open a large shop in order to give other people the opportunity to work.
