Ernestina's story

Ernestina E. G., 45, lives with her life partner in the Barrio Laureles Sur neighborhood. One of the neighborhood's main problem is that it has a high crime rate that threatens their own and their children's security. Her husband works as a contractor and he contributes to household expenses. They have two children, who work with their father in their spare time. With her husband's efforts, she runs their small business in which they sell meat; on Sundays they sell soup. Their short-term goal is to finish their home and to build a second story on it so that they can be more comfortable. The business needs to be enlarged and she wants to install a better stocked butcher shop. For this, she has requested financing that will allow her to diversify her stock offerings so that earnings will increase thereby being of economic improvement for her family.
