Melissa's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy additional rice, noodles, canned foods, sugar, and biscuits for her general store business.

Melissa's story

Melissa is a widow with three children. She lives with her children in their home in a rural community in Honiara, the capital of the Solomon Islands.

To earn a living for her family, she runs a small general store in her community. She sells food items such as rice, noodles, canned foods, and biscuits.

She started her business four years ago, and this is her second loan cycle. She plans to grow her business with help from South Pacific Business Development (SPBD). Melissa joined SPBD in 2018 to gain access to financial services.

Her goal for the future is to earn more income to support her children financially.
