Marjory's loan finished fundraising, but these other borrowers need your support

A loan helped to boost her business of selling zapnax (a snack food), popcorn and sweets.

Marjory's story

Marjory is a 19-year-old entrepreneur who lives with her parents in the Nyanga in Zimbabwe. Marjory is the first born in a family of four. She recently completed her ordinary level course of study and she is eager to help her parents to support her siblings to go to school. While living with her parents and siblings, she plans to re-seat for her ordinary levels at the same time that her siblings proceed with their education.

Marjory is requesting a Kiva loan in order to boost her own retail businesses of selling zapnax (a snack food), popcorn and sweets. Marjory plans to use the profit she earns to pay school fees for her siblings, as well as her own school registration fees.

She will repay the ‘social interest’ on her loan by volunteering for 2.5 hours per week as a Camfed Learner Guide, leading life skills sessions for students in local schools on topics, such as rights and choices, choosing a career path and active citizenship.
