Riacho Grande Group's story

The Riacho Grande group feels privileged to be the beneficiaries of this support from Kiva. The group is going to make positive improvements in their businesses, providing everyone with a future opportunity for growth.

Cristiana is married and is the mother of two children. Her spouse works as a truck driver. They all live in a community in the area of São Bernardo do Campo in São Paulo. Because she has a small nine-month-old daughter, she hasn’t gotten a job outside the home. As she needs to help with the household expenses, she decided to sell semi-precious and costume jewelry to earn extra income and be able to care for her young daughter. Her biggest dream is to have her own house. This loan will be useful for buying retail items such as earrings, rings, bracelets, necklaces, and sunglasses.

Monalisa has a small restaurant in the community. She plans to invest in food to sell. Jocasta also sells semi-precious jewelry and sunglasses. Gilda is a hair stylist. She is going to use the loan to restock hair care products and to pay suppliers.
